Kunle Opawale leads the technology and digital transformation team at NAHCO PLC. In this role, he is responsible for delivering on the company’s digital agenda, driving innovation, and leveraging technology to transform our business, delight customers and meet changing regulatory demands.

With over two decades of cognate experience in banking and financial services, leading transformation, technology, risk management, operations and sales, Kunle brings a wealth of expertise and experience to this role. Prior to joining NACHO, he was a program manager with First Bank, a leading Bank in Nigeria with subsidiaries in Sub-Saharan Africa, where he successfully led the digital transformation of the Risk, Finance, Treasury and Compliance business functions.

He was also part of the bank’s Africa integration team that designed and implemented the back end and core banking systems across the bank’s subsidiaries in Ghana, Congo, Senegal, Sierra- Leone, Guinea, and Gambia. In addition to leading the digital transformation of the bank’s clearinghouse processes as project manager and member of the Nigeria Automated Clearing System, a Central Bank of Nigeria initiative to automate the clearing and payment system for Banks and financial institutions.

Kunle’s core competence is in leading large scale enterprise digital transformation, managing enterprise projects, ensuring smooth transition through deployment of appropriate change management practices while delivering business value to the delight of stakeholders. His focus is on leveraging technologies to improve customer experience and employee’s productivity while boosting revenue streams.

Kunle is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and University of London, United Kingdom, where he bagged a Master’s degree in finance. He loves travelling, reading, and providing mentorship to the youth.
